But Novalee is about to discover hidden treasures in this small Southwest town--a group of down-to-earth, deeply caring people willing to help a homeless, jobless girl living secretly in a Wal-Mart. No two pictures can ever be the same, every picture is unique and I think that's awesome! How do you remain so positive and were you always like this? Ashley Judd added another fine performance to her resume, with a free spirited portrayal of Lexie. N: To be honest, I can't really tell you what was going through my head that day! Of course the movie didn't have all the personal relationships Novalee gains but as a whole the movie kept the same story.

I was blown away by it then, and even named my daughter after one of the characters Cherry. It only came in handy during the short hospital scene near the end and even that wasn't worth the effort. Its fluent and highly realistic.

I would barely consider this a comedy; the only comedy came from Stockard Channing's character. There was also a section involving child rape that could have been left out. I was vindicated, however: I had already predicted the Sister Husband woman was dead. The story is original and the acting and dialogue are outstanding.

The choice of actors is superb, and the direction is wonderful. Willy Jack has lost everything that he used to have. What can really be said about a movie that can alter your world in just a few short hours? Forney is from a well-bred family but had to drop out of college to take care of his alcoholic sister. I laughed, and although I hate to admit it, being a tough guy and all, I cried - several times - during this wonderful film about learning to be content with what we have and learning to appreciate how unique and special everyone and everything is. This is my wife's favorite movie and it almost makes me physically ill to watch this celebration of victimhood. Stockard Channing, Ashley Judd, and Natalie Portman were the perfect actors for these roles. Never has Novallee ever lived in a house and she wants to make sure that her baby grows up in the best environment that she can create.
This is a must see movie! The characters were really cool but I did not like the protagonist. Where the Heart Is has a heart and it's not afraid to use it at all in this film. Even the advancing of the plot seemed to drag on for me and did not keep me wondering what was going to occur next. Since I already knew the basic plot, I found myself comparing the book to the movie. N: It definitely affected me in many ways, however I would say that in the end it really made me stronger. This film is intelligent and well made, that is often moving.
