The Breadwinner is an inspiring novel about a brave young girl named Parvana who is very courageous in very tough times. I feel they all have tried to highlight the effect of a war on children. A change in their relationship is evident. This novel shows how ordinary people can do the extraordinary. Describe the restrictions they place on the people of Kabul. Adding to that she is really angry about it that her sister always comments what she does.
They only have very few girls and sometimes she goes to the students sometimes the students come. She would try being as strong and brave as the girl in the story her father knew. Parvan was glad that someone will finally get her mother back on her feet. This book was very sad but it also was a very well written book and I would highly recommend it. This book does not use difficult language, but due to some of the serious scenes that are depicted, for example domestic abuse and whipping, I would recommend this book for a middle school audience or older.
